David Edis-Bates, C.Eng MIET is a Chartered communications and electronics engineer who's spent more than 30 years in export related activities around the world, he lived in Taiwan for 4 years in the 70’s as project manager for BICC Telecommunications on the Taiwan Railway Electrification project.

David spent more than 20 years at BICC Plc (now Balfour Beatty) starting as design and development engineer in the Telephone Cables Division then systems engineer, senior systems engineer, project manager Taiwan, international marketing manager, export manager, deputy commercial manager, general manager telecommunication installations and lastly divisional commercial manager of BICC Communications and Electronics Cables Division at Helsby responsible for commercial activities of several factories of the Division in the North West of England.

In the mid 1980's he formed Egerton Communications Systems part of Egerton Holdings Group Plc installing communications systems for BT, British Rail, Mercury, BAE, Shell and others he later founded Cheshire Business Solutions an IT and datacomms company based in Cheshire in the UK installing computer systems, datacommunications networks and audio visual equipment mostly in schools, colleges and universities, he also owned Thurston Software a software development company in Warrington during the 90's.

His daughter Sarah is owner and Managing Director of CTS-Networks an IT company in Nantwich, Cheshire, UK specialising in Audio visual and digital signage

David taught part time in further education for several years in the UK. He is currently CEO of Edis Trading (HK) Limited who design and manufacture audio visual equipment in China and export these products to distributors around the world mostly in Europe, South Africa and Australia.
